First-rate

"Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else." Judy Garland

Isn't that a cool thought? I might even add one more bit right along with it... Don't expect somebody else should be a first-rate copy of me.

From Out of Africa, a quote with a similar sentiment, "I don't want to live someone else's idea of how to live. Don't ask me to do that. I don't want to find out one day that I'm at the end of someone else's life."
I often say to myself and others, "We can all be many people, but some of them are better than others."
or
As a teacher I can be many people, some of them I prefer, but if I need to... I can be someone I prefer not to be... the deciding factor? The student.

Good quote.

G'day!

Always enjoy finding a blog-post from you.

and Dad, that's a good quote too. I may have even heard you say it before. Thanks!
