On a tri-annual (yes, that's every three years) trip to the movies with some friends this weekend, I heard a quote that is sticking with me. Considering I am NOT a movie quote type of person, I think it must be a good one.
"Knowing what you've got, knowing what you need, knowing what you don't - that's inventory control." the husband, Revolutionary Road
Maybe that's a good description of how to live a simple life. I've got a lot of good going on at home - husband, kids, house, food, car - more than I need, even, and not too many reasons to go looking for more. Besides improving on those cheap shirts and weak decorating. Hehe.

By the way, the movie was interesting, but pretty depressing.

Isn't interesting that when you start to ponder a question, like what is the simple life, then answers present themselves, even at the movies!
the quote is actually - "knowing what you got, knowing what you need, knowing what you can live without - that's inventory control"
hey there - thanks for the correction! see, i should have known better than to think i actually remembered a quote correctly from a movie - ha!
This is strange... I live in Mexico. I saw that movie last weekend and that same phrase won my attention. That's what took me to this site. Strange...
this quote caught my attention, another quote which did: "No one forgets the truth, they just get better at lying."
I really appreciate your post and it was superb .Thanks for sharing information.
